The Inception

Quite unlike any other venture next door, our mission actually began from inside out! During our explorations, we discovered that regions of BHAL and Saurashtra border still continue to follow the traditional practice of free grazing for their desi cow herds and these cows produce better quality and highly nutritious milk as compared to the cows in organized cow farming systems. So, we tried and tested the milk and the results were excellent. And thus, we devised a sustainable and win-win business model through which we can provide the goodness of the desi cow milk and its products to our valued customers while providing better prices and incentives to the marginal farmers and cow owners of BHAL region, for maintaining quality of milk by taking greater care of the health, hygiene and sanitization of their own cows.

Being Traditionally Modern

In the journey, we also kept discovering the nourishing benefits of desi ghee, the clarified elixir from the ancient traditions. We stuck to the traditional processes of ghee-making as described in our ancient texts, which insist that ghee has to be prepared from Makkhan (cultured butter), where the Desi Cow Whole Milk is first converted to curd before further being churned into butter. Ancient practises also emphasize the need for slow churning process. So, we invested a lot of time, efforts and resources to develop a one of its kind slow churning machine which does an exact replication of the traditional “Hand churning or Bilona churning” method (churning in both, clockwise and anti-clockwise direction).

The Quality

From milk collection to processing, at each and every point we ensure that the highest hygiene and quality standards are maintained. For example, our milk collection agents are provided with sophisticated analyzers to check quality before accepting any milk and our processing plant is equipped with in-house laboratory to ensure every batch of raw milk is sampled and tested before processing. We have also designed a special viewing gallery for the visitors to view the production processes in order to maintain transparency.
